As of April 19, 50 spaces remained for the 2008 Jim Hall Memorial May Trout Classic. The dates for the two-day tourney are May 17 and 18. The tourney hosts 425 anglers competing to see who can land the whopper.
Awards are presented for the top nine largest rainbow trout caught during the tourney on Big Bear Lake. First prize is $2,025.
Two junior divisions are held for younger fishermen and women ages 5 to 15. The junior anglers must be related to a paid adult entrant. Junior awards are trophies, rods and reels. The adult competition is open to anglers age 16 and older.
A trophy trout plant will take place prior to the tournament, which is coordinated through the May Trout Classic, the Fishing Association, the Big Bear Municipal Water District and Big Bear Marina.
