Don’t be concerned if you see most of the pumps at Best Gas closed the morning of Saturday, June 22. Best Gas hosts a free and fun competition the entire family can enjoy beginning at 10 a.m.

The Bucket Bullseye Casting Competition features participants seeing who can make the most fishing poles casts at strategically-placed buckets. You don’t need to bring any pole or gear. Best Gas will have Snoopy-type poles and large poles for participants to use. Each competitor gets five casts at the buckets, which have various point values. Small buckets are worth more points than the big ones.

Casts are made from the Best Gas “shoreline” to the buckets. To score, the weight must land inside the bucket. If the weight pops out of the bucket once it has gone inside, it still counts. Most points after five casts earns first place. Highest scores in case of a tie will have two more chances to win in a run-off.

Prizes include trophies, new poles, nightcrawlers, a small box of goodies and gift baskets from Jeff’s Famous Jerky. There will be free ice cream and jerky samples, too.

The Best Gas Bucket Bullseye Casting Competition is sponsored by Best Gas, Jeff’s Famous Jerky and Juliana Painting.

Best Gas is at 101 W. Big Bear Blvd., Big Bear City.
