Big Bear High School scholarship night, June 3, 2019

Big Bear High School seniors and family members fill the Big Bear Lake Performing Arts Center June 3 for scholarship night.

Nine days until the end and the beginning. Nine days before the Big Bear High School Class of 2019 walks across the outdoor stage to receive diplomas and best wishes for the rest of their lives.

As the end of the Bear Valley Unified School District 2018-19 school year nears, students going to special events such as the Steven G. Mihaylo event and Big Bear High School recognition ceremony.

They are thinking about senior step down assembly and grad night on Friday, June 7. They are trying not to think about taking finals next week — their last big tests as high school students. But they are certainly thinking about graduation day on June 14.

Nineteen students at Chautauqua High School look forward to being one of the largest graduating classes in recent years when they accept their certificates on June 13. And Big Bear Middle School eighth-graders can’t wait for their special day — Wednesday, June 12 — when they are promoted to ninth grade and prepare for life at the high school.

It’s the cycle of student life at Bear Valley Unified.
