Caltrans work on the bridge rail replacement on State Route 330 could cause significant delays for those traveling to Big Bear during the holiday weekend. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes if possible.

A temporary solar traffic control signal was installed at the City Creek Bridge for one lane in each direction of travel. While the signal is timed for approximately 90 seconds in each direction, delays are based on the number of vehicles in the queue. Delays of up to 30 minutes have been reported during high traffic volume periods and inclement weather.

With the Memorial Day holiday weekend upon us, Caltrans cautions that delays on Highway 330 should be expected. Traffic is expected to be heavy with visitors to Big Bear, and snow is in the forecast for Sunday, May 26. No construction restrictions are in place on Highway 38 from Redlands nor Highway 18 from the High Desert.

The bridge replacement project began in April and won't be completed until the summer of 2020. Work is taking place at City Creek Bridge and East Fork City Creek Bridge.
