Things are starting to take shape for the Bear Valley Unified School District Education Foundation. On Thursday, June 20, foundation members will take a tour of the property in Big Bear City that was donated to the school district earlier this year by RCK

Properties Inc.

The group meets at 2 p.m. at Baldwin Lane Elementary. The property consists of more than 200 acres near the elementary school and Big Bear High School.

The nonprofit Bear Valley Unified School District Education Foundation was formed soon after the property was donated earlier this year. The group is tasked identifying areas for potential development of the property for community or school use.

In previous meetings of the foundation’s board, potential projects include trails, youth sports fields and an aquatic center.

Following the tour, the foundation board meets at the Bear Valley Unified School District office at 4 p.m. Items on the agenda include review of the tour, update on the foundation’s

501c(3) status, and the review and possible approval of a consultant to conduct an environmental field survey for trails construction.

Baldwin Lane Elementary is at 44500 Baldwin Lane, Big Bear City. The school district office is at

42271 Moonridge Road, Big Bear Lake.
