Nancy Celeste Walker brings the ladies of jazz to life at the 12th annual Concert on the Green Aug. 4.

Music begins at 6:30 p.m. in the garden at the Inn at Fawnskin. “I am very excited about this year’s concert, as we will be paying tribute to the fabulous jazz singers over the years who have influenced me the most,” Walker says. Beginning with Billie Holiday, and featuring music from other great ladies of jazz such as Sarah Vaughn, Lena Horne and Ella Fitzgerald, Walker will weave stories of the singers and songwriters.

Walker will be accompanied by local jazz musicians Mike Cross on acoustic piano, Mark Cade on stand-up bass, and Steve Boggio on drums The three have been playing together for quite some time as The Real Jazz Trio.

“I am also excited to be performing with my good friend Mike Cross and his fabulous trio,” Walker says. “Having a great trio behind me gives me not only peace of mind, but also allows me to be spontaneous in the moment, to express myself musically, which is what jazz is all about.”

Tickets are $30 and include one opportunity drawing ticket. There will also be a live and silent auction. Wine will be available for purchase.

The Inn at Fawnskin is at 880 Canyon Road, at the corner of Highway 38/North Shore Drive in Fawnskin. For tickets, call 909-866-3200.
