Have a telescope in your closet that you bought or was given to you and have no idea how to use it? The Big Bear Valley Astronomical Society has the solution.

On July 20, the group hosts a Public Star Party and Telescope Clinic at Erwin Lake Park in Big Bear City. Bring your telescope and experts will check it over and show you how to get the most out of your equipment. Those without a telescope can enjoy views of the stars through the lenses of the astronomical group’s telescopes.

The Public Star Party begins at 7 p.m., weather permitting. Admission is free.

For more information, email Teresa@LBTI.org, visit www.bearvalleyastronomers.org or look for the group on Facebook.

Erwin Lake Park is at 1140 Hatchery Drive, Big Bear City.
