Lovers of Big Bear’s trails are invited to test the Skyline trail near the Village on Saturday, July 14. It is one site of the upcoming Kodiak Ultra Marathon set for Aug. 17-18.

Runners of all skill levels are invited to meet at the Knickerbocker Parking Lot in the Village, across from Big Bear Elementary School on Knickerbocker Road in the Village area of Big Bear Lake at 7 a.m. From there, runners can choose from four courses: 11 miles, 14 miles, 17 miles and 23 miles.

The 11- and 14-mile runs include the beginning of the August marathon’s 100-mile course as well as the final portion for all the races. The 17-mile run covers miles 90 to 96 of the 100-mile course at Radford Road. And the 23-mile course covers miles 9 to 15 of the 100-mile course at Aspen Glen.

There will be first aid and water stations available.

Participants are invited to 572 Social Kitchen and Lounge following the run. The gang will be on the patio unless it’s raining.

572 Social Kitchen and Lounge is at 572 Pine Knot Avenue, Big Bear Lake.
