Pinball arcade in Big Bear, June 30, 2017

Workers unload classic pinball machines for installation at Sandy's Sports Bar in Big Bear Lake June 30. The machines are part of Far Sight Studio owner Jay Obernolte's private collection.

The first step in the Sandy’s Sports Restaurant collaboration with Far Sight Studios has begun. The two Big Bear Lake businesses are creating a pinball arcade in Sandy’s game room with several classic pinball machines from State Assemblyman Jay Obernolte’s collection.

Once the pinball machines are installed the plans are to establish a competitive pinball league, said Norman Stepansky of Far Sight Studios.

Sandy’s co-owner Brian Cramer said he’s excited about the collaboration. An official opening date for the arcade has not been set, but it should be ready soon, Cramer said.
